In the fall semester of 2008, Mari independently developed a 33-page marketing plan for a film written and directed by a Chapman graduate film student. The plan includes strategies for successfully marketing the film at a film festival, a B2B strategy to obtain distribution with a major studio, and a strategy to market the film to the public once it is picked up.
Her marketing plan was voted one of the ten best in class based on her presentation to her classmates, and won the 2009 Cecil Award for Best Entertainment Marketing Campaign at Chapman University.
